1. VCLA CUT SCORES WERE APPROVED IN FINAL REVIEW:
The scores are 235 for each test (reading and writing) with a 470 composite score. Dr. Elliott indicated that over 1000 people took the March 18 test. He expects to look at the test results data again in December to see if any adjustment in the passing score needs to be made. This is based on the small pool of candidates used to initially set the score.
2. National Center for Alternative Certification
" Alternative routes to teacher certification are quickly becoming the routes of choice into teaching. Your program and that of the other 600 or so providers of alternate route programs currently being implemented in all 50 states in the United States -- are producing about one-third of all new hires to teaching".
