Hello and welcome to the Department of Educational Leadership and Counseling. Our fundamental purpose is to provide scholarly instruction for students interested in working in educational leadership fields and the helping professions. The following academic programs that accomplish this are housed in our department:

  • Community College Leadership (Ph.D.)
  • Counseling (M.S.Ed., Ed. S.,  Ph.D. )
  • Educational Leadership (M.S.Ed., Ed.S., Ph.D.)
  • Higher Education (M.S.Ed., Ed.S.,  Ph.D. )
  • Human Services (B.S.)

The department has 24 full-time faculty, two staff members, and numerous adjunct faculty. All  
 full-time faculty hold doctoral degrees in their discipline. The department faculty are nationally and internationally known scholars in their discipline and all have been practitioners in their respective fields.  Our faculty pride themselves in offering programs  that are comprehensive, rigorous, and student - centered in a way that engages students in learning that involves self-reflective and critical thinking activities. Overall, the department derives its strength and collective sense of scholarly excellence from cooperative interaction of academic programs, service delivery, and people who care about people.
