Ph.D. in Community College Leadership

Educational Leadership (Ed.S. with licensure)

Students who have a master's degree in another area and do not have a license in administration supervision PreK-12 may be accepted into the Ed.S. program. Completion of the following 39 semester hours of coursework and passing the School Leaders Licensure Assessment lead to licensure as an administrator. The classes marked with an asterisk are required classes for licensure.

Admission:
Students must:
1. meet all University admissions requirements for graduate study;
2. provide two letters of recommendation;

3.  hold master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of a 3.25 graduate point average

     on a 4:00 scale;
4.  provide a one-page essay explaining why he/she should be admitted; and
5.  have an acceptable score on the Graduate Record Examination or the Miller Analogies Test.

Applicants who admissions credentials are slightly below the required minimum will be considered for provisional admission. Performance in classes as a non-degree student will not be taken into consideration in the admission process.

Continuance:
Student must meet all University continuance requirements and maintain a 3:00 or higher grade point average.

Exit:

Degree Requirements include:
1. a written comprehensive examination;
2. successful completion of the required course of study; and,
3. a 3:00 grade point average or above.
