Program Requirements
The Master of Science in Education degree in higher education requires a minimum of 42-credit hours of coursework and a written comprehensive examination. The curriculum has three parts, including Higher Education content courses (27 credit hours), cognate courses (9 credit hours), and two internships (6 credit hours).
Other program policies
A. No more than one class can be taken independently and only then with the written permission of the student's advisor and course instructor's approval.
B. The student must pass all questions on the comprehensive examination to complete the MS program. If the MS student fails more than two questions or the CAS student fails more than one question, he or she must re-take the entire examination. Students have two opportunities to satisfactorily complete all questions on their comprehensive examination. It is strongly suggested that the student discuss any failed question with the question graders, go through the failed question with the graders, and receive advice on how to prepare for the re-take. Please contact your advisor to help you set up this meeting.
