This is a great website to self-evaluate each applicant's readiness for post-secondary education and learning. "Learn how to use your strengths, learning style and interests to set goals for college; what to expect in college and what professors will expect from you; tips for good grades, accommodations and using technology; learn what you can do now to prepare for and apply to college."
Think College
"Youth with intellectual disabilities have not had many chances to go to college. This is changing as individuals across the country begin to create opportunities for these youth to reap the benefits of postsecondary education. This website will provide information and links to anyone interested in finding out more about the possibilities." This website has great sections for students, their families, and educators! ODU READY highly encourages prospective READY applicants to check out the 'Student Stories' link under the student section, as it gives first-hand accounts of some very amazing students and their experiences and interests in college.
Virginia College Quest
"A Guide to College Success for Students with disAbilities"

This website provides information and assistance in many areas of post-secondary planning, with multiple sections for transition planning and resources to help students with intellectual disabilities figure out what they want to do after high school. A few examples are: 'Paving the Way,' 'Charting Your Course,' and 'Tools for Success.' This is also a great guide for students and their families and transition coordinators.
