Course Catalogue

The ODU READY Course Catalogue is available!!!  Please keep in mind that the courses and their descriptions are subject to change based on available resources throughout each semester.

The types of courses offered by ODUR are part of two categories:  Campus courses and Resident Life courses.  There are four campus courses and three resident life courses each semester, totaling seven (7) classes, each worth three (3) ODUR credits.  READY students are required to take all four Campus courses and begin working on goals in all three Resident Life courses each semester.

Campus courses are taught on and around the Old Dominion University campus at regularly scheduled times on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  Topics include college transition, health and hazards, relationships and intimacy, computers and technology, and employment.

Resident Life courses are taught in and around each students' residence based on the students' volunteer/work schedule.  Courses are offered one on one, in groups, or both on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.  Students will progress through each resident life course based on goals attained in each class throughout all four semesters.  Goals are met in areas such as independent living skills, communication skills, leadership and self-determination, and transition planning.

A copy of the Course Catalogue will be mailed out with applications.  Feel free, however, to download a copy from this website.
