Graduate Sport Management

Admission - The Sports Management Program follows the same admission requirements as posted on the web site at http://web.odu.edu. In summary, an overall undergraduate GPA of 2.8 (4.0 scale) is required along with a GPA of 3.0 (4.0 scale) in the undergraduate major. GRE scores of 900 (verbal and quantitative sections) are expected. If a student's GRE scores are below 900, their situation will be reviewed for possible provisional admittance on a case by case basis. Students are also expected to possess basic computer literacy. Three letters of recommendation must be submitted along with official transcripts of undergraduate work and a "personal statement of goals" essay. Please go to http://web.odu.edu and click on the graduate admissions button. You can download graduate application and letter of recommendation forms from this site.

Three categories of admission are possible and they include regluar, provisional, and non-degree. If a student does not have all the paperwork completed, then the Graduate Program Director (GPD) has the option to admit the students on a temporary provisional status and this can change to a regular status after the completion of 12 credits (if all requirements for admission have been met) and grades of "B" or higher. Please telephone or e-mail Dr. Case at 757-683-5962 or rcase@odu.edu is you have questions about the admissions process or procedures.
