Early Childhood Education Degree Programs

The PhD in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education program, through its integral partnership with the Old Dominion University Child Study and Development Centers, focuses on the multidisciplinary study of the cognitive, language, and healthy social/emotional development of young children from birth to age nine. The program prepares students to become faculty in colleges and universities and senior administrators in institutions and agencies. Personalized mentorship and professional training is provided for those who desire careers in academic research, child advocacy, program design and evaluation, and higher education, including teacher preparation, policy, and administrational leadership.

Masters of Science In Education - Early Childhood Major with Licensure (PreK-3)
This program leads to a Masters of Science In Education - Early Childhood Major with Licensure (PreK-3). Accredited by the National Association of Early Childhood Association, the master's program in early childhood education concentrates on the teaching of children from infancy through third grade with an emphasis on education in child-care centers, preschools, and kindergartens, as well as public schools. Out-of-school learning, including parent education, and the young child's interaction with the family is a major focus.

B.S or B.A. from another college or university seeking a M.S. Ed
