Old Dominion University's Darden College of Education was pleased to host visiting teams from the Virginia Department of Education and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).

The Darden College of Education remains committed to excellence and innovation in education, research, and service. The College is committed to discovering knowledge, preparing leaders, supporting practitioners, and engaging with communities from the local to the national and international level.

Our faculty members engage in research that focuses on how students learn and on instructional strategies for teaching them. We are committed to translating this research into practice to ensure our candidates are well prepared to teach their students and become leaders in their schools. Our interdisciplinary research continues to reflect the collaborative approach valued within the Darden College of Education.

This Web site highlights many of the accomplishments of our candidates and faculty, and I hope you find it helpful. The faculty, candidates, and our school partners look forward to having conversations with both teams that will guide us as we continually work to improve our programs for our candidates and ultimately the P-12 students they serve.
