Director's Welcome and Appreciation
Thank you for visiting the Programs for Continued Learning (PCL) web site. The department operates as the continuing education operation for the Darden College of Education. In this capacity, the office provides professional and personal noncredit programs. Program offerings range from short courses, workshops, and institutes as well as offering educational training and conferences for educators and counselors. The services we provide assist individuals seeking to gain knowledge and individual satisfaction in their professions and private lifes.
In addition, the PCL is accredited by the Southern Association of Schools and Colleges (SACS) to endorse outside for-profit and nonprofit organizations, associations, adult learning centers, and similar entities that require continuing education unit sponsorship. This opportunity affords an individual a hard copy certificate, verifying professional growth and a recorded verification of completion that is maintained in the University's Continuing Education Operations office. A certificate and permanent transcript of continuing education unit awards (CEU) may be useful to professionals for promotion, employment, or certification purposes.
The Programs for Continued Learning Office offers special event planning in the following areas:
- assistance in needs assessment
- assistance in designing seminars, workshops, institutes and conferences
- consulting services to improve organizational capabilities
- event management and marketing
- fiscal support and budget management
- duplication of education material for program use
- facility arrangements for guest speakers
- design and preparation of continuing education unit certificates for participants
