Teacher Candidate -- A Teacher Candidate is a student who has:
1) declared an undergraduate major and has been admitted into the undergraduate teacher education program;
2) admitted into a graduate teacher education program with initial licensure; or
3) admitted into a post-baccalaureate endorsement program.

Teacher Candidate Internship Mentor Option Policy and Request Form
School divisions in the Commonwealth of Virginia requiring a Backgroung Check
Teacher candidates are asked to review the list and determine if the school where they are being placed for the teacher candidate internship requires a background check. The school division human resources office will provide intructions for the candidate as to which forms to complete and where to mail the forms.
